Consultants laid out plans for a facility at the site of a former24,000-sf, six-screen CinemaStar movie theater on Third Avenue for city officials earlier this week. The city would have to purchase and remodel the building, which is in a Downtown area that Chula Vista is already redeveloping.
The city is exploring the financial feasibility of the project andconsultants will return to the council in a few weeks with designsand projected costs. Artists and patrons from throughout the South Bayarea attended the meeting to support the idea.
