The store includes a 40-foot tall mountain, with a trout pond, running waterfalls, 60-foot streams and even a beaver dam. The 360°, walk-around mountain, called Animals of North America, features approximately 100 wild game mounts in their distinct habitats.

Another major display in Cabela's showroom is a 65,000-gallon, walk-through aquarium stocked with trout, panfish, game and trophy fish and predator species.

Greg Golab, the store manager, said the store took 11 months to build. The customer count has been a pleasant surprise. "I can tell you that in the first weekend we had 206,000 people. On weekdays it's been pretty steady at about 50,000 a day," Golab said. He said his company could not disclose the cost of the development.

Other features of the large development include: a shooting gallery for kids, parking for more than 1,800 cars, 100 semi-trucks and trailer rigs, 100 vehicles towing trailers or boats, and 30 buses and a 250-seat restaurant.
