Santa Ana-based Microsemi makes computer chips and other electronics. Last year it paid $24 million for LinFinity, which makes the silicone wafers used in the manufacture of computer chips.
The expansion should take about a year to complete, Microsemi says. When finished, it will allow LinFinity to boost production of its silicon wafers by more than 30%.
