TA purchased the building for about $9 million back in 1997. The group bought it from the Kroh Operating Limited Partnership, which managed the finances of the bankrupted Kroh Bros. of Kansas City, the original developers of the building.
Nearly 110,000 sf is available in the structure for about $20 per sf. Outreach Communications Group has signed on as the building's first tenant.
The USDA moved earlier this year to a new building at 63rd Street and Winchester Road in east Kansas City. Prior to the USDA, the building at the Ward Parkway building was the headquarters for HNTB Architects Engineers Planners.
