Uptown Land Parcel Up for Grabs

CHARLOTTE-The Charlotte Housing Authority is sending out requests for proposals to developers interested in building on a 1.4-acre parcel in the city's First Ward area.

CHARLOTTE-A 1.4-acre parcel in the First Ward area, owned by the Charlotte Housing Authority, is on the selling block. The agency is requesting bids from interested developers. The property is zoned for offices, retail, residences, restaurants and hotels.

The housing authority will consider a cash offer for the land, a long-term ground lease or a partnership that generates cash at closing, plus a long-term revenue stream. Sharing in the developer’s profits appears to be the agency’s preferred option.
