The $25-million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2001. The tower is being developed by a joint venture of Amicus Partners and Sarofim Realty Advisors. Amicus was founded by Robert Shaw, Roger Staubach and Jim Leslie, president of the Staubach Co., a commercial real estate firm based in Dallas. Shaw was formerly with the Post Properties multifamily development firm.
Amicus assembled a similar team for another 17-story residential tower it is developing in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood of Dallas. Sarofim Realty Advisors is a partner with Amicus in both the Dallas and Houston condominium projects. The same architect, Gromatsky Dupree and Associates, designed both the Houston and Dallas condominium towers for Amicus. A number of mid- and high-rise condominium buildings have been constructed in Houston in the last two or three years. The Personette & Associates realty firm is marketing the Houston condo units to home buyers.
