A host of city and state dignitaries are expected to be on hand at the ceremony at the complex located on Riverdale Ave. The Classic Residence by Hyatt in Yonkers marks the company's entrance in Westchester County as well as New York State.

Yonkers Mayor John Spencer notes, "I enthusiastically welcome Classic Residence by Hyatt to the Yonkers community. This will provide our seniors with all the amenities that one could possibly want in a retirement community, while also creating employment opportunities for our Yonkers citizens and further stimulating our city's economic growth."

The 17-story senior residence features 199 independent living units, 75 personal care apartments and a 36-unit Alzheimer's center. Company officials said that a total of 50 units will be occupied by Oct. 1.

Classic Residence by Hyatt, which is based in Chicago, developed the Yonkers project in partnership with Forest City Daly Housing of New York City, an affiliate of Forest City Enterprises of Cleveland, OH.
