Developers of the Aquarena, headed by California show producer Zev Buffman, and city staff asked the council for a 90-day extension so details of a development and operating agreement between the two can be finalized.
In June, the council approved fast-tracking the project to enable the aquatic center to be finished by early 2001. If the council approves the extension, the opening of the center would be delayed by two to three months, Buffman says.
