The New York-based hotel operator is currently deciding what to do with the 149-room hotel, which it acquired in 1997. Starwood operates the Sheraton, Four Points, Westin, Luxury Collection, St. Regis and W brand hotels.
The university said it wants the hotel as an investment, and has no plans to convert it to student housing. Last year, it acquired a former Howard Johnson hotel, once used as a lookout for the Watergate burglary, and converted it into a freshman dormitory.
