Eikon officials informed the planning commission of their new plans this week. The 85-year-old brick structure has been empty since 1970, complementing a strip of Mission Street that has been neglected for some time.

The new plan was reportedly formed after neighbors argued that the district would not be able to handle 1,000 car-driving, high-tech workers on a daily basis. The switching center means more machines than workers will occupy the building.
