CHARLOTTE-The Lichtin Corp. of Raleigh, NC is the newest player on an office development field now totaling at least five projects encompassing 1.47 million sf with an estimated construction cost of $354 million.

Lichtin plans to build the first of seven office buildings at Toringdon, a $100-million, mixed-use community at Interstate 485 and the Johnston Road extension. The 93,000-sf structure is expected to be completed during summer 2001 at an estimated cost of $10 million.

The 50-acre Toringdon will also have 100,000 sf of retail space and 72 townhomes.
