XS officials assure Orlando area law enforcement and zoning code officials the video room will not have sexually-oriented or graphic material, only casino-style slot machine games, motorcycle and jet ski rides that award prizes but no cash. The enterprise is shooting for a spring 2001 opening.
The games room will be open only to persons who can prove they are 21 or older. The room, on the second-floor of the planned two-story structure, won't open until 10 p.m. daily.
The 250-seat restaurant/bar on the first floor will be run by Rosario Poma, operator of Pacino's and Key W. Kools, grilled seafood and steak restaurants in Kissimmee, FL. The director of operations is Frank Abbinanti, a former Walt Disney World executive chef.
The entire operation will have a staff of 200. The project is being built next door to the Wonderworks upside-down building. Pointe Park is a retail/entertainment themed shopping center at 9101 International Dr. in metro Orlando's tourist corridor.
RCC Associates Inc. of Deerfield Beach, FL is the general contractor. In Orlando, RCC has built Jimmy Buffet's Margartitaville restaurant at Universal Studio's CityWalk attraction.
