The Houston-based firm is rumored to be in negotiations with San Jose Arena management, which has said that it wants to find a way to increase funds at the 17,500-seat venue without affecting ticket prices.
The San Jose Arena is owned by the city and run by the San Jose Sharks, a hockey team. It opened in 1993.
If the arena were renamed, it certainly wouldn't be a first in the Bay Area. Wireless firm 3Com paid $4 for naming rights at the former Candlestick Park in San Francisco, and Network Associates paid $6 million for those rights at the former Oakland Coliseum.
