The company reports that part of the acquisition, valued at $55 million, was the take over of Trex Medical's 62,000 -f research and development, manufacturing and administrative operation at 36 Apple Ridge Rd. in Danbury. Also part of the deal is Trex Medical's 156,000 -f leased facility in Littleton, MA. Hologic officials state that the company will retain the 550 employees who work at the two locations.
Trex Medical, a Thermo Electron company, is a manufacturer of mobile X-Ray systems, specialized medical X-Ray imaging equipment and general radiology products.
