Uptown Condos Selling Like Hotcakes

CHARLOTTE-Pre-construction sales at the Park, a 20-story, 106-unit uptown condominium, are averaging 12 units per month--and the project hasn't even broken ground. Prices start at $150,000 and run to $550,000 for a penthouse.

The four-month pre-construction sales mark of 48 units is prompting the developers to break ground by January. The price range is $150,000 to $550,000. The Park will be built atop a four-story parking garage and will be Uptown's tallest residential tower.

The project is in the city's Second Ward, which hasn't seen any new residential development since the 1970s.
