The county wants to create private interest in Gastonia's commercial side by relocating government offices to the central business district. The plan would entail buying the 140,000-sf York Chester Square shopping center for $3.5 million or $24.30 per sf.
Curtain, Bed & Bath Outlet currently leases the two-story property. County departments would lease the space when the lease expires.
