The nationwide consulting firm awards the honor as a result of tenant surveys at properties in North America. The Macfarlan project is a 10-story, class A office building constructed in 1978, that totals 188,000 sf. Its major tenants are Triad Energy, Greenwood King, Butler & Hailey, Fireman's Fund and S.J. Bashen.

A Macfarlan partnership purchased the building two years ago, serving as property manager and leasing agent.Meanwhile, Post Properties' Midtown Square development has received recognition as being the most environmentally sensitive by the Sierra Club. The project uniquely blends shops, 479 apartments and flex green space. The project is two blocks from the Downtown and near the Houston Metro Trolley line.The landscaping features New Orleans-style courtyards with outdoor fountains and gas lanterns. The developers are protecting the equivalent of nearly six city blocks of open space in the suburbs.
