Popeye's Franchiser Busting Out All Over

MIAMI-The 92-restaurant Interfoods of America Inc., franchiser of Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits, has acquired another 71 outlets from RMS Family Restaurants Inc. for an undisclosed price.

The acquistion price wasn't disclosed. Interfoods also obtained development rights to build another 56 units over the next seven years>

Interfoods operates 163 Popeye's in seven Southeastern states. The publicly-held firm has grown from 11 restaurants in the Miami area to its current total in the past four years. The Popeye's menu highlights Cajun-style chicken and side dishes. The restaurants are in 40 states and 23 countries.
