Wallace moves up to chairman of the EDC for the 2002 fiscal year. He would be the first African-American to head the organization. As chairman, Wallace would advise Chief Executive Darrell Kelley who handles EDC's daily operations.
Taking over this year's chairmanship role Oct. 1 is Howell W. Melton Jr., an Orlando lawyer. Melton succeeds Thomas Hunt, regional director of BellSouth Telecommunications. John Rigsby, president of Time Warner Communications in Orlando, will serve a second term as secretary/treasurer.
