Two Manufacturers Pick Center City Sites Over Suburbs

CHARLOTTE-Encore Products of Chandler, AZ and locally-based MetroTech Chemicals Inc. are expanding their businesses and staffs. Encore is moving into a renovated 80,000-sf warehouse on Sugar Creek Road where the work force is expected to grow to 300.

Encore is moving into a renovated 80,000-sf warehouse at 601 E. Sugar Creel Rd. near Tyron Mall where the work force is expected to grow to 300. The company makes computer cabinets.

MetroTech plans to build an 18,000-sf corporate headquarters building on 3.1 acres for an estimated construction cost of $2 million at 2101 Wilkinson Blvd., just west of Interstate 77.
