Silver Spring Revitalization Project Loses Its Theater Anchor

SILVER SPRING, MD-Peterson Cos. is looking for new movie theaters after Edwards Theaters drops plans for a multiplex.

SILVER SPRING, MD-Edwards Theaters has dropped its plans to run a theater in a major Downtown revitalization project for Silver Spring.The news has sent the project’s developer, Peterson Cos. of Fairfax, Va., talking to other theater chains to fill the space.

Theaters are typically seen as anchor tenants for such retail-intensive projects, because they draw crowds that will support other retail tenants.
