Amstar Tickets Houston for 437-Unit Apartment Complex

HOUSTON-Amstar joins the Houston race to build more housing units, ticketing land west of the Downtown for a 437-unit apartment project. Construction, being overseen by the Morgan Group Inc., is slated to get under way in the fall.

HOUSTON-Amstar Group Ltd. is joining the Houston real estate development community with the construction of a 437-unit apartment project. The firm will be developing the Estates at Memorial Heights on a 10-acre tract of land just west of downtown Houston at Memorial Parkway and Studemont Street.

Amstar, a Denver-based real estate development firm, has contracted with the Morgan Group Inc., which will oversee the construction of the facility. The infill development site is part of the redevelopment of an old rice storage facility and grain silos.

The apartment facility, slated to be under construction this fall, will consist of three- and four-story apartment buildings and a central parking garage. Apartment developers have been active with new developments around Downtown Houston in recent years.
