The money amounts to nearly 75% of the cost of building a new fire station, new sewer and water lines and a new freeway interchange on Interstate 101 at Bailey Avenue. Under the agreement, the city and state will put up $47 million.
This marks the latest chapter in the short life of the firm's hotly debated $100-million campus proposal. The San Jose City Council must now approve Wednesday's agreement. Cisco is the city's largest employer.
