Local brokers say the company is looking for 150,000 sf initially--with room to as much as double in coming years--and has short-listed several sites. One of those sites is a 6.6-acre, PGE-owned parcel next to KPTV (12)located at 211 SE Caruthers. Columbia's current headquarters are in a 90,000-sf building located at 6600 N. Baltimore, but the company has its workers spread throughout the region.

If the company is looking for already existing buildings to operate from, real estate sources say another option could be Consolidated Freightways' Leland James Center, which has 342,662 sf of space and is listed for $28.5 million. Consolidated is selling the 12-acre property at 1621 NW 21st Ave. along with its Menlo Park, CA headquarters and centralizing operations in Vancouver, WA.
