The company is currently located in converted retail buildings. In addition to leasing real office space, the Cupertino, CA-based company is said to be considering several sites for possible new development, including a privately owned surface parking lot north of its existing offices, or south of existing offices where a vacant Sears building now sits on city-owned property.

Employing some 500 people, Symantec's worldwide customer service center is a major Downtown employer.
