Tour 18 Inc., the Houston-based developer of the 1,100-acre Augusta Pines community, is constructing a 100,000-sf clubhouse and banquet facility that will include 30,000 sf of office space. The two-story office space will provide tenants with bird's eye view of the 18th and 9th greens. In addition to the 18-hole course, the project will have 600 home sites, some of which are more than an acre.

Augusta Pines community is being constructed in far north Harris County, near Kuykendahl Road. The golf course is expected to be open for play late in 2000. Roads and utilities in the project are under construction and home building will begin in early 2001. The single-family homes in the project will be priced from $350,000 and up. Attached "garden homes" will begin at $225,000.

The office space will be leased to small firms that want a presence in a verdant, suburban setting. Houston is experiencing exceptionally strong single-family home sales this year and a number of developers have been purchasing large parcels of land for residential communities.
