The agreement was signed with Gillette Global Network, Inc., a full-service broadband communications and application service provider that has been in business since 1994. Gillette will install its Broadband Building Infrastructure Deployment System. The company uses its own facilities and fiber-optic backbone, providing the services and personalized customer care.
"Finding success in the new economy requires high-speed access and instant connectivity to the rest of the world," says Joseph P. Gillette, president and CEO of Gillette, in a release. "I am very pleased that [Gillette] has been selected to wire the prestigious Empire State Building and the other Manhattan properties. When completed, our new infrastructure will allow us to 'turn up' cost effective broadband communications services virtually immediately to building tenants. This win greatly augments our already prominent New York footprint."
