Theredevelopment stems from a 1992 lawsuit allegingdiscriminatory concentration of racial minoritiesliving in some 770 units of public housing.
Street andutility work will be done this fall, with theconstruction of the 900 units of housing for a variety of income levels to start next spring.
The project's lead developer is St. Louis-basedMcCormack Baron & Associates, and local partner,Legacy Management and Development Corp.
