Quadrant is constructing a two-story 100,000-sf building for DeVry, along with a 200,000-sf parking garage for students and faculty. The technology institute is expected to open its doors in July 2001.

DeVry Institutes, a division of DeVry University in Chicago, purchased 11.5 acres of land for the new campus from Quadrant and Chase Properties. The sale totaled approximately $3.6 million, according to Quadrant.

DeVry, which offers both associate and bachelor's degrees in technology-related fields such as computer information systems and electronics engineering technology, says it is attracted to the Northwest because of its burgeoning high-tech industry.

The East Campus Corporate park, located adjacent to Interstate 5 in Federal Way, is 106-acres within Weyerhaeuser's 500-acre wooded corporate campus. When complete, East Campus is expected to provide 1.2 million sf of office space. To date, a total of 400,000 sf of office space has been built in the corporate park, with approximately 45,000 sf available for immediate lease.
