The center, scheduled to be open in 2001, will have a 130,000-sf Home Depot, a 175,000-sf Target SuperCenter and a 12,000-sf strip center. The project is located on Texas 146 near Kemah.

Property Commerce has a total of 22 active retail projects totaling more than 3.5 million sf. either recently completed or under construction in south Texas. The firm typically develops centers anchored by Home Depot, Target, Wal-Mart or a grocery store.

With strong home building in the Houston area, the addition of new rooftops has left large parts of the suburbs in need of more retail space. In addition to the seven new projects in Houston, Property Commerce is also developing projects in Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen, Weslaco, Killeen, San Marcos, Lake Jackson and other Texas cities. Property Commerce, founded in 1976, has developed more than 6 million sf of commercial space and more than 3,600 apartment units.
