The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation will meet with county officials next week (Oct. 10) to discuss the plan. The site is located between Routes 772, 625 and 606 on the west side of the airport, putting it in an area where development has exploded the past few years.

The rezoning would make the land more valuable than it is now, which real estate officials say is about $60,000 an acre. Developers frequently encounter opposition in Loudoun County, but the foundation believes it fits in well with the county's plan to control growth.

The site lies in the path of a planned rail line and bus transit system, said the foundation's attorney.
