The Austin-based corporation has added one more high-volume Fuji line in both cities. The Austin expansion increases surface mount technology capacity by 33%, bringing its total count to four lines, and an additional line in Dallas, improving overall capacity by 50%. The Dallas area will be expanded further, adding a prototype service, as the firm preps to relocate to a larger manufacturing facility. The company also is planning additional lines in the next months to address a growing backlog, according to a company press release.
The expansions are meeting the explosive demand from new and existing telecom and networking customers. Core products include wireless modems, high-capability telephone switch products and power converters for network infrastructure. In addition, the company intends to further expand capacity in the next few months to address its growing backlog.
XeTel, founded in 1984, is ranked among the top 50 electronics manufacturing services industry providers in North America. The company, which employs more than 600 people, has manufacturing facilities in Dallas and San Ramon, CA.
