Kirksey and Partners Architects of Houston are the designers of the eight-story building. Landry's currently has offices in the nearby Interfin Building on Post Oak Boulevard. E.E. Reed Construction Co. is the general contractor of the building, which will have a reflective glass exterior. The building will also be equipped with a test kitchen.

Landry's operates 160 restaurants in 26 states with four seafood concepts: Joe's Crab Shack, Landry's Seafood House, The Crab House and Willie G's. The company also owns the 30-acre Kemah Boardwalk, a collection of restaurants and amusement parks rides in Galveston County. Next door to the new Landry's building, Landry's chairman Tilman Fertitta recently built his Post Oak Motor Cars, a luxury dealership that sells Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles.
