McGregor Manufacturing Corp. has decided to build three new facilities onits almost nine acres of land abutting Maple Road. The company currentlyoperates out of one 25,000-sf building on the property.Plans are to expand the current building by 4,000 sf and lease it out,says Scott McGregor, vice president of sales. The company will then build a36,075-sf building to the rear for its own use.

The renovated building, along Maple Road, is being looked at by onecommercial tenant, McGregor says. He declined to name the interested party.The other two facilities will be build-to-suits. One will be 31,180-sf,and the other 37,044-sf. Both will be designed for high-tech office andresearch/development use, McGregor says.

He said the purpose behind the $15-million construction project is tostrengthen the company's own pocketbook."We're tired of paying taxes on 8.6 acres of weeds," McGregor says.The company has approval for the renovations to the 25,000-sf building,but is awaiting full site plan approval for the new construction. McGregorsays the company hopes to break ground on its new headquarters next spring,with completion in the summer.
