Gray Harris is growing its professional staff to compete with even-larger regional and national law firms setting up shop in metro Orlando, Byrd F. Marshall, the firm's president, tells GlobeSt.com. "It's our Interstate 4 strategy."

Interstate 4 runs from Daytona Beach, FL on the state's southeast coast to Tampa, FL on the southwest edge, a 200-mile run.

The newest merger follows an alliance a month ago with 17-lawyer Shackleford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans of Tampa. A week later, Gray Harris brought in the entire seven-lawyer, Tallahassee, FL staff of Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, an Orlando competitor. All of the firms involved in the mergers practice real estate law.

Besides its commercial practice, Gray Harris provides legal services to lenders, emerging businesses, local governments and private investors, locally and abroad.
