City Reach International is developing a secure Internet eXchange facility at the park, now being outfitted for high-quality access of broadband IT capabilities. Installation is due to be finished in early 2001. City Reach is developing a pan-European network for B2Bs and business-to-consumer Internet applications. Under the pacts, companies will lease a portion of the Internet capacity.

The French Secure Internet eXchange is located on the A1 to Paris, less than five minutes from Charles de Gaulle Airport and seven miles from the heart of Paris. Ralph O'Dell, CEO of City Reach Europe, says a partner was needed who understood the business to help clear administrative hurdles prevalent in France. "ProLogis has helped us every step of the way and will continue to work with us as we move toward becoming operational in the first half of next year."

ProLogis' expertise has led to more than 3.5 million sf of buildings being leased to Internet-related businesses, says Robert Watson, COO for ProLogis Europe. "So we understood the needs of City Reach and were able to help them establish and execute their business plan for Paris," he says.
