The Canadian market has more than 700,000 broadband subscribers, fertile ground for the Austin-based software solutions provider. "Our move into Canada is a natural result of this explosive growth," says Kip McClanahan, BroadJump's president and CEO. "Canadian providers are trying to solve the same problems related to broadband deployment and management as U.S. providers and we intend to bring our industry-leading solutions to this region and duplicate the same success."
The Toronto office at 3300 Bloor St. West will serve as headquarters for BroadJump Canada and function independently of the Austin operation. Doug Smith and Jim Smith will jointly oversee the Canadian office. Doug Smith will be in charge of day-to-day sales while Jim Smith will direct technical support.
Since November 1998, BroadJump has opened offices in Atlanta, Denver, Kansas City, New York City, Washington, D.C. It has grown from its four founders to a workforce of 144 people. BroadJump specializes in software solutions that reduce time and cost of installation and management of a broadband connection for the residential market.
