"With the addition of Level 3 we now have three major bandwidth carriers who have located their backbone routing and switching at E-port," says Paul Fishbein, vice president at Amerimar Enterprises of Philadelpia. The other major carriers that have signed are Worldcom and Broadwing.
Amerimar is the marketing partner in the E-port venture, which will ultimately be comprised of 1.5 million-sf of telecom hotel, office and retail space. Amerimar is partnering with Taconic Partners, Angelo Gordon & Co. and Centrum Properties in an investment of more than $200 million in E-port.
Level 3, based in Broomfield, CO, will occupy 1-1/2 floors at E-port, a space more than four times as large as Level 3's other facility at 111 N. Canal here. Level 3 has facilities in 56 US markets and 21 European and Asian markets.
