The 17,254-sf complex will include 65 stalls in the garage. The owner of the property is the Thrifty Oil Company.
Construction plans call for the use of steel studs with I-beams and ducking, with the second floor built with concrete poured over decking and a truss roof. Interior surfaces will be drywall.
When completed, exterior surfaces will be similar to the stone and plaster used in the new Mission Viejo Public Library building across the street. With City Hall expected to move into the vicinity, homogeneity is expected for new construction in the area.
Although a completion date has not yet been finalized, estimates are for construction to be finished around July 2001.
