Initially, the plans had called for 320 units and 4.5 acres of commercial use, but it had been changed to better reflect the town's comprehensive plan. Under the new plan, the 35-acre site at McCaslin Boulevard and Coalton Road would include 15.1 acres of residentially compatible commercial projects, such as assisted living, day care and small professional or medical buildings.
DelWest may sell the commercial land to other developers, or may develop it itself. The 60-year-old company is primarily a residential developer, with more than 60,000 housing units in North America, including 1,000 in the Denver area.
