The library is a joint effort between the city of San Jose and San Jose State University. It will be built on campus grounds at the corner of Fourth and San Fernando Streets, the former site of the now-demolished Wahlquist Library. Construction is expected to be complete in 2003.
It will host San Jose State's main library collections as well as the school's Clark and Wahlquist collections.
