Located at Main Street and MacArthur Blvd., the 12-story, 269,000-sf Class A office building is Phase I of Opus Center Irvine, part of the Irvine Concourse master-planned office park. With this lease, the building is now 90 percent committed.

For Sun, a Fortune 500 company providing industrial hardware, software and services, this lease represents an expansion from its present 15,000-sf office in Irvine. Considered the crown jewel of the building's tenants, Sun will receive good corporate exposure from top signage on the building. Sun will occupy the top two floors of the building for its Orange County regional operations. The high-technology firm will move more than 150 employees into the new space in March 2001.

The first of three office towers totaling 930,000 sf, which Opus West plans to deliver to the Irvine Concourse office park, Opus Center Irvine I was completed in October 1999. Construction on Opus Center Irvine II, a high-rise structure totaling 321,000 sf, will begin in May 2001, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2002.

Jones Lang LaSalle's San Diego office represented Sun, and CB Richard Ellis's Newport Beach office represented the developer Opus West.
