The privately-held, family-run company will relocate in about three years from its original, 10-acre founding site on south Orange Avenue where it has occupied a 125,000-sf plant for the 76 years of its existence.
Correct Craft produces 2,500 boats a year and projects it can increase that volume to about 4,000 at the larger plant. The company manufactures six lines of boats used for wake-boarding and skiing. The firm plans to boost its work force of 100 to 300.
The company posted 1999 gross sales of $60 million. Correct Craft boats sell for $32,000 to $45,000.
For the 2,728-acre International Corporate Park, the land purchase and the planned move by Correct Craft is an indication the 20-year-old, once-lifeless business park is beginning to attract the line of tenants it has long sought.
For example, in August, Dallas, TX-based Sierra Stone Inc. purchased 37 acres for an estimated $888,000 or $24,000 per acre for a 200,000-sf distribution center.
