It marks the latest move by a building-centric provider to link commercial office tenants with broadband communications, especially smaller companies that often lack the resources to hook up on their own. That's especially true in south Florida, where these providers haven't started lining up buildings, which is one of the reasons Wired Business wants to be there."It's nearly virgin territory from a competitive perspective," says Fisher.The company has struck partnerships with Abood and Associates, America's Capital Partners, Capital Realty Services, Davide Realty, EF Hutton Realty, Tate Industries and Welsh Companies.
In the increasing competition with other building-centric providers like Allied Risers, Cypress Communications, Everest, eLink and others, Wired Business says it is the low-cost provider, and will win where competition revolves around price. Started in 1998, the company is not as far advanced as other firms, but believes it can catch up quicker with some of its older rivals. "When you start peeling it away, you find people have signed lots of deals for access but they haven't lit many buildings," Fisher says.
