University of Missouri-Kansas City Works to Alleviate Parking Problems

KANSAS CITY, MO-Construction is underway on a new parking structure.

KANSAS CITY, MO-Steel beams are rising from the mammoth hole created to hold the fivelevel parking garage being constructed on the campus of the Universityof Missouri-Kansas City just southeast of the Country Club Plaza.

Work, which began June 1, should take about 18 months to complete. Thenew structure will hold 1,330 vehicles and more than triple the oldlot’s capacity of 400 spaces. A bridge will connect the northwest cornerof the garage and Haag and Royall Hall. Construction is being handled byTaylor Ball LC.
