The computer and printer maker paid $1.7 million for 367 Addison Ave., the location where HP founders William Hewlett and David Packard launched the company in 1939. The company says it will renovate the garage but has not announced plans beyond that.

Area tech-history buffs have for years made trips to stare at the humble beginnings of what is now a beyond-booming high-tech area. There has been talk of making the garage a museum, but that is unlikely since it is located in a primarily residential area.
