The project alongside the train tracks at the Morristown station will include 226 residential rental units, 8,000 sf of retail space and almost 800 parking spaces. Actual construction will begin next year and take 16-18 months.
The goals of this and projects to follow elsewhere in NJ are to bring greater commercial vitality to the state's commuter system and deposit more residents within walking distance of their commutation venues. Skepticism remains, however, and many are viewing this first project as a test of the concept.
