Commenting on this opening specifically and on the move toward brick-and-mortar by online firms in general, Web's co-CEO Joseph J. Fox says that he "firmly believes that opening branch locations within strategic markets serves to extend the Web Street brand, promote loyalty among our existing customers, and attract new customers by providing an additional channel to access Web Street's products and services. Establishing physical offices throughout the country is agreat way to accomplish that goal."
The company's first Financial Services Center, located in Beverly Hills, has operated successfully since July of 1999. Web Street management plans to continue expanding its physical presence with additional branches in the financial districts of San Francisco and Denver. Both are expected to open in this quarter.
