Los Angeles-based HOB Entertainment Inc. has signed a letter of intent to open one of its clubs and restaurants in Larimer Square, a row of historic buildings that comprise a trendy shopping and restaurant district in Denver's Lower Downtown area.
The 20,000-sf to 25,000-sf venue will house a Cajun-style restaurant, with seating for 200. The concert hall would seat 1,000. The house of Blues will be built - at a cost of $5 million to $10 million - in the former Champion Brewing Co. restaurant. The club is planning an early 2002 opening.
The Denver House of Blues is one of seven new clubs planned in the nation. Other cities in the expansion mode are Dallas, San Diego, San Jose, Anaheim, Austin and Kansas City, Mo.
