The company currently operates out of two sites on Northeast 112th Avenue, near SEH America Inc. It will combine those operations in the new building, which is being constructed on a 6.5-acre site at 199 Commerce Center, a 116-acre Battle Ground industrial site off Northeast 199th Street that is just now beginning to be developed.

United Tempering will be the first to build on the industrial land, which in the first phase of two development stages. The first phase will see infrastructure--including fiber-optic connections--brought to 40 acres of the site. The property borders the Lewis and Clark Railroad tracks. Plans are to make the lines accessible in phase two of the development, starting in the summer of 2001.

United Tempering Systems manufactures window glass from raw glass material, heat-treating and cutting the finished product for contractors. The company is a subsidiary of Oldcastle, a holding company for CRH PLC, a Dublin, Ireland-based international building materials conglomerate.
